Picked up a camera lot recently because it had a Yashica 44 in it. The seller said there was a Zeiss Ikon box camera in poor condition included. Noticed it had a Kalart Synchronized Rangefinder attached to it and figured I'd take it too for fun.
When the lot came in the Yashica was great, but it wasn't the prize. What I found is a Zeiss Ikon Maximar 207/1 with a Kalart Synchronized Rangefinder mounted to it. The camera in my opinion is far from being in "Poor Condition" and as you guys know is not a Box Camera. What I'm having a problem with is finding any information on the 207/1, it is very limited. I have found no info of a 207/1 with a rangefinder attached to it. Does anyone here know for sure what I have? Is this an original item or the results of someone's upgrading at one time?

Your Zeiss Ikon Maximar 207/1 or Model B was made between 1927-39 and takes 9x12cm pictures. This model is similar to the Model Maximar A in design. The Model A came in either black or green leather bellows, this last one mentioned considered quite uncommon, while the Model B came in black only. Your 207/1 has a book value of between $80-$120. Hey, even the Yashica 44, made in 1958, has a value of $60-$90! The Kalart Synchronized Rangefinder is most likely an add-on. Check out Collectiblend and see ebay listings too: collectiblend.com/Cameras/Zeiss-Ikon/Maximar-207-1.html
