Hello, optics enthusiasts!
First time post here; hope this is the right section and all.
I just bought a still film projector at a local garage sale with a mfg. nameplate bearing the name "Commercial Picture Equipment, Inc." and a "CPE" for the logo. I can't find much of anything online--only mentions of them as a supplier in a couple scanned books. Have any of you heard of them?
The projector is a big, brassy beast. Quite boxy--way bigger than it needs to be, based on my understanding/experience. Judging by design and use of Bakelite, I'm guessing 1940s or 50s. I'll post some photos in a bit.
Also, speaking of Bakelite, the projector has an AC voltmeter on it. Any idea what use that would be? I understand mains voltage fluctuates (particularly 60 years ago), but I can't figure why the user would care when really only a lightbulb and a motor are involved...
Any and all information would be appreciated!

I was looking in a dumpster at my storage she'd when I came upon a rather large box that had in it a complete CPE 9×12 projection screen does anyone have a clue how much this would be worth today?
